Chelchele is located in the highlands of Gedeb, in Ethiopia’s Gedeo Zone, an area known for producing some of the most distinctive coffees associated with Yirgacheffe. Coffee is grown by smallholder farmers at high elevations and delivered to local washing stations after harvest. For washed lots, ripe cherries are carefully sorted, depulped, fermented and washed before being slowly dried on raised African beds. The cool high-altitude climate and careful processing help create a clean, vibrant cup with pronounced sweetness, floral character and lively fruit acidity.
